Summertime Smoothie Starter Pack

If you have been following my blog since September, you may have already found some of my smoothie recipes to kickstart your mornings with a quick and nutritious breakfast. Smoothies are an enhanced means of nutrition absorption that help increase your energy levels, improve your digestion, and boost your immune system to start your day off right. Loading up on antioxidants first thing in the morning is also great for hydrating your skin barrier before a long day out in the sun or on the course.

Smoothies are on the thicker side, so they may maintain some of the insoluble fiber that is lost when you fully juice fruits and vegetables. The chunkier, the better! Insoluble fiber contains plant materials such as cellulose, hemicellulose and lignins, which help to regulate the digestive tract. Luckily, both juices and smoothies contain plenty of soluble fibers–such as pectins, gums and mucilage–which regulate blood sugar, help lower blood cholesterol, and slows the transit of food through the digestive tract and helps fill you up.

Smoothies are a perfect breakfast, or a perfect meal-on-the-go for heading to long tournaments. Quick, easy, and cold! Choose from one of my recipes below, or mix and match your combinations to create a custom smoothie that best matches your tastes and nutritional needs.
